Beginning Band / Instruments
- Music 19AD
70484 Monday & Wednesday 9:30-11:00am
Room G126, Instructor Hamilton Beginning bands primary purpose is to gain basic
understanding of the fundamentals of music through the physical
process of playing a musical instrument. Beginning band is for
anyone who would like to learn a woodwind, brass, or percussion
instrument or refresh themselves on an instrument they have played
in the past. Some students may also use this class for doubling
purposes. Students do not need any prior music reading experience.
If a student is interested in guitar or piano, LBCC offers separate
classes for those instruments. LBCC does not currently have a
beginning strings class which would include violin, viola, cello,
or bass. All class members will be required to have an instrument
for their own use (no sharing). Unfortunately there is a limited
number of school instruments and there is no guarantee that you
will have access to one. Renting an instrument from a local music
store, purchasing one from ebay, or borrowing one from a friend
are all possible ways to attain an instrument if LBCC doesn't
have one available. If you have any questions about the Beginning
Instruments, please contact Mr. Hamilton at 562-938-4613 or e-mail
him at the link above. |
