Academic Music - Applied Program

The Applied Program in the Department of Music is one of Long Beach City College's most unique and important opportunities. This program allows music majors to have private lessons on a keyboard instrument, voice, guitar, or any standard band or orchestra instrument. Each student is required to perform twice per semester before the applied program, and stand for a jury before the faculty at the end of each semester. Sophomore recitals are available and encouraged.

An audition is required for entrance into the Applied Program as well as other enrollment requirements for the Music Major.

Merit scholarships are also available, and are based on audition as well.

If you have any questions about the Applied Music Program, please contact:
